About us
and our hotel boat..
We are Steve and Steph Furniss. After many years’ association with
the inland waterways, we purchased our hotel boat Tranquil Rose in 2002, to run
her as owner-operators. We have certainly enjoyed our time so far
as hosts and owners aboard Tranquil Rose, welcoming new guests to
the fold of her regular clientele. Most of all we have enjoyed
making new friends amongst our guests. We have an ambitious
programme of improvements planned to increase your comfort and
enjoyment. Steph is in charge of the galley, and making a name for
herself with the well-fed guests. Together we have planned new
cruises for the hotel boat, thus ringing the changes on some familiar
scenes and also making travel to and from the cruises a little
easier.

We really can show you the wonders of the English countryside as
we journey through its history.
Tranquil Rose offers you a choice of relaxing hotel boat cruises, whether on
the River Thames or on canals. We will cruise each day, with stops for lunch
and at
several places of special interest. Each night we find a peaceful
mooring spot in time for you to take a stroll before dinner. All
through the day, from breakfast, home-baked biscuits and coffee,
light lunch, home baked cakes and tea to the informal dinner, you
can be sure you will be well catered for. |
